I've always subscribed to the principles of Pilates which form the base of strength-building for many other forms of sports I enjoy. However, for a long-term commitment to Pilates, I needed an instructor who practises, placing value on cross training, and in today's lingo, who is an athlete too. That is not easy to find.
It has been five delightful years (with more to come) with Kimberly guiding me through from basic to advanced Pilates movements. She has reawakened long-forgotten muscles and built my core solid. I appreciate her curious and scientific mind that has generously shared knowledge, and patiently answered all my questions about movements and muscles.
Kimberly's composed and gentle approach has eased out minor injuries, and kept me flexible and mostly injury-free through falls and spills. This will be even more helpful as I tumble into my late forties.

At 49, I was suffering from lower back pain from frequent travelling due to work and reduced mobility of my hips since I was 25 due to a genetically inherited condition. While excited about attempting all kinds of sports- cycling being my favorite, I always suffered from pain after covering long distances.
After moving to Singapore, I kept myself active and started preparing for a triathlon, well aware of my limitations. With Kimberly as my coach, Pilates sessions were specifically tailored by her to address my issues and concerns. She emphasized precise control and balance of my movements during her classes- that helped me develop the awareness and strength to keep myself balanced.
I can now cycle long distances without pain, and my posture is more upright. My hip mobility has significantly improved, and I can continue to keep up with regular training sessions without pain. I strongly recommend Kimberly Tan.

A major fall few years ago made me discover I actually had a leg length discrepancy, which affected my hips and my back. 3 surgeries to address the femur, one year on and off the wheelchair, I thought there was no hope running after and playing with my young son.
My physiotherapist recommended Kimberly to me to start Pilates so that I can start doing low-impact exercises and build up my strength and mobility in my hips and core. Through our sessions, I learned so much about my feet and my walking patterns, my posture and how that affected my standing and movements. On top of our twice-weekly sessions, Kimberly made sure I did my home exercises.
My hips are more mobile, my back is stronger, my core is holding up well and I have started playing sports with my son during the weekend!
Thank you Kimberly!

My girls and I started Pilates with Kim, hoping to do it as a form of family bonding. However shortly after, I realized they had different sporting needs and attention requirements (Inez, 12, is in music and volleyball, and Adele, 10, synchronized swimming and touch rugby), so I sent them for duet sessions with her.
The girls looked up to her as a big sister and Inez who wasn't active in sports began to take charge of her fitness, joining the school's volleyball team.
I enjoy Pilates classes with Kim very much and am really grateful for her guidance in helping me to embark on my own journey in teaching Pilates. She has made such a huge impact in my journey from Day 1, being my first ever Pilates teacher. As I prepare for my assessments and have taught my 50-hour teaching practice, I am more appreciative and excited about the road ahead.

I almost thought Kim was a trained physiotherapist when I first started training with her due to a chronic lower back condition.
My previous physio relocated to Japan and I was recommended to start Pilates with her to continue with some form of resistance training on top of my regular walks. I encountered several setbacks, discovering only now (at the age of 58!) that I actually have a leg-length discrepancy - which had been the problem of my back.
Kim was always ready to share and patient to explain how she wanted to work us and would teach us exercises to do at home so that we continue to take practice out of the studio.
My wife and I enjoyed our regular weekend sessions with her, and she never fails to crack us up (in a good way) bringing much laughter during our time together. Although we now have to move back to UK due to work, we will surely miss Pilates with her!
All the best, Kim!

Kimberly is a spirited trainer who will convince you Pilates is relaxing-ly enjoyable. She makes attending classes a fun and stress-free experience.
My week ends well with a good stretch session with Kimberly!
Although I very much hope for physical classes to resume, virtual classes are definitely a good option for working parents like myself.

We are very much beginners at Pilates. We have been attending Kimberly's Saturday group classes at the NUSS Guild House. However, during these unusual Covid times, her classes are conducted via ZOOM. At first, we were apprehensive about the effectiveness of virtual classes. But after attending a few sessions, we felt virtual classes are almost as effective as physical classes at the club.
Notwithstanding the limitations from telecommunicating, Kimberly takes the time to check on us and adjusts our form accordingly, emphasizing the importance of getting our foundations right.
I admire her focus, dedication and determination to get her instructions across and in making sure every one of us in her class fully receives her attention.
Although I look forward to returning to physical classes, I feel I haven't missed out in quality working out from the comfort of our home. And I look forward to meeting everyone in the virtual classroom.

Online Pilates classes with Kimberly are effective and you get to sweat it out!
Time flies when you are having a good workout. The small class setting makes it very personable and you don't feel like you are watching some video workout program online. In fact, you have your personal trainer next to you.. ...

Kimberly's a great instructor to be with. Her instructions and explanations are clear and easy to follow. She is attuned to everyone's abilities and for a beginner like me, I've never felt left out of place even though it's a mixed level class. She is observant and provides feedback and/or modifications for us.
Although a hard taskmaster, her lessons are fun and never boring!

Kim is a fun and inspiring Pilates instructor. I met Kim at Virgin late last year and since then, I have always looked forward to training with her on the reformer every week. She is precise and intentional in her approach and takes a lot of care in observing and helping many of us correct our postures in class.
Fast forward to Covid and working out online. I appreciate the fact that Kim has transitioned seamlessly into teaching online Pilates classes. Despite the challenges of not being able to physically correct our postures and help us onsite, she has continued to observe and correct us in our online classes. I like the fact that she is innovative and even the humble dining chair can become an effective tool for our training. I am so glad that I do not have to miss my Pilates classes and I am able to get the help I need to become stronger during this time.
Kim is a dedicated and committed Pilates instructor. I appreciate the fact that she is continuously challenging herself and pushing her boundaries as she hones her craft by learning from master experts so that she can be more effective for her clients.
Thanks Kim! It is a great pleasure learning from you!
